Deputy Title IX Coordinators will respect your privacy and share information only on a need-to-know basis. Deputy Title IX Coordinators share reports with the Title IX Office1, which provides guidance on supportive measures and oversight on actions taken to address sex- or gender-based discrimination or sexual misconduct. In cases of sexual assault or other criminal conduct, Deputy Title IX Coordinators will also share nonidentifying details about the incident with the Yale Police Department for statistical purposes (as required by the federal Clery Act) and will advise you about the resources and assistance that the police can provide.
In circumstances where there is an ongoing threat to the individual or another person’s health and safety, the Title IX Office may consult with the Yale Police and other relevant University Offices to address the concern.
1 The Title IX Office will comply with lawfully issued subpoenas and requests made pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
