Below are some counseling and emotional support resources within Yale. 

  • Sexual Harassment and Assault Response & Education Center (SHARE) -CONFIDENTIAL-
    • Available to all members of the Yale community
    • SHARE, the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response & Education Center, has professional counselors who are available to provide information, support, and advocacy. SHARE is available on weekdays during regular business hours and has a 24/7 on-call service for time-sensitive matters afterhours and on weekends/holidays (203.432.2000). Calls can also be anonymous. SHARE’s office is located at 55 Lock Street, lower level. In addition to individual services, support groups are offered through SHARE. 
       
  • Mental Health & Counseling at Yale Health (MHC) -CONFIDENTIAL-
    • Available to Yale students
    • MHC is committed to addressing Yale students’ psychological concerns and helping them achieve their intellectual and personal goals. Individual and group counseling sessions are available. You may contact MHC 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday at 203.432.0290. For urgent care after hours or on weekends, call Acute Care at 203.432.0123 and ask to speak with the MHC clinician on-call.
  • Behavioral Health -CONFIDENTIAL-
    • Available to staff, faculty, and non-student health plan members
    • Magellan manages the community provider network for Yale employees and non-student health plan members and provides referrals to local clinicians. You may contact Magellan 24/7 through a toll-free telephone center (800.327.9240 or TDD 800.456.4006), which is staffed by licensed mental health clinicians.
    • If you have questions or need assistance contact Cheryl Doebrick, PhD (203.436.5706) or Borislav Meandzija, MD (203.436.5667) in the Behavioral Health Department at Yale Health Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. 
  • Employee Assistance Program: Optum -CONFIDENTIAL-
    • Yale’s Personal Wellness Signature Benefits provide eligible staff, faculty, post-doctoral associates, and their household members up to six free confidential counseling sessions per issue—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For inquiries, call 866.416.6586.

  • Yale Chaplain’s Office -CONFIDENTIAL-
    • Available to all members of the Yale community
    • Chaplains from a variety of religious and spiritual traditions are available for confidential pastoral support and care. Call 203.432.1128 to make an appointment or feel free to reach out to any of the chaplains by email.
